Unable to sort table legend on name or values

  • What Grafana version and what operating system are you using?
    8.0.1 on Google GKE

  • What are you trying to achieve?
    I want to be able to (manually) sort the legend on either name, or max/mean values

  • How are you trying to achieve it?
    I configured the legend to be a table and I try to click on the min/max headers (the metric names column does not have a header, so not clickable)

  • What happened?
    Nothing happens when I click the min or max header in the legend

  • What did you expect to happen?

I expected the legend to be sorted. I know it worked in older versions of Grafana (5.x) that I can remember.

Am I forgetting any setting for sorting to be enabled ? This is a panel containing data from a BigQuery query.

confirmed, time series - legend table cant be sorted

so, meanwhile, workaround is back to using Graph (old) …?
legend is still sort-able in Graph (old)

*not sure if this is considered as a bug for v8 (time series graph) or not…

Cool, thanks for this workaround. After switching to “Graph (old)” we can now sort again.

Is there a reason why it wouldnt work with Timeseries dashboard. I dont like moving back and forth

Not developed yet in time series graph I assume.

I love the new Time Series panel, but my users keep getting stuck on the inability to sort the legend.

Any updates? JIRA for that?
This issue prevents us from using new Time Series panel as we need sort feature.
On the other hand, Annotations not working propely, once you switch from Graph to Time Series and vice versa
