Histogram charts, error with X-axis min & max values

Hi.

I’m using Grafana 6.5.1 and I’ve created several histogram charts, with X-axis min and max settings specified.

The resulting charts obey the min setting, but not the max setting - the scale always goes a bit further than I’ve asked for.

For example, min = -4 and max = 4, I end up with a scale from -4 to 5.

min = 0 and max = 12, I end up with a scale from 0 to 14.

min = 0 and max = 2, I end up with a scale from 0 to 2.2.

The points representing my data only cover the range I’ve asked for, but the axis always goes a bit further.

This seems like a bug to me.

The X-axis labels are weird, too.

For example, I set Xmin=0, Xmax=8

I get 12 labels on the X-axis:

1 2 2 3 4 5 6 6 7 8 9

Why two 2s and two 6s?

(As well as, why does it go up to 9 when I asked for 8?)

There doesn’t seem to be any control over how many labels get generated, nor
can I select the precision (number of decimal places) like I can with the Y-
axis…

Antony.
