Extending forked Grafana

Hi all,
We are considering forking Grafana and extending it for our next project.
I am aware we could simply add additional plugins to it but I have a feeling it won’t be enough :wink: We are thinking of adding completely new views that would be accessible from the side bar that is already there.
Therefore I have a few questions:

  1. Has anyone (apart from Grafana team) made similar changes?
  2. I was wondering whether there is any documentation on the Grafana project structure? Any guides?

hello,

What exists for Grafana are Apps. This is one type of plugin for Grafana. For an app you can define you own views and connect this with dashboards.

I got a question. The plugin is labeled “legacy”. What is the new way of implementing the app plugin?
