Could not find plugin definition for data source" datasource_type=mssql

I did an upgrade to 11.3.0, but it failed to start due to Grafana fails to start after upgrade to v10.4.11 · Issue #95219 · grafana/grafana · GitHub

So I rolled back my update, but now my SQL Server datasource is broke. All dashboards that leverage this plugin fail to load and the grafana.log shows the following:

level=error msg=“Could not find plugin definition for data source” datasource_type=mssql

When I go to my datasource, I see the icon is grayed out and when I click on it, it tells me: “Plugin not found, no installed plugin with that id”

I got the same, after downgrade Grafana Microsoft SQL Server plugin is missing, and it does not appear in the dropbox to install it again.

I’m wondering if anyone knows how to fix it?

I tried several things since then in an attempt to restore functionality. Rolled back to earlier Grafana versions, restored the database to an earlier version, but nothing worked. I ended up having to roll back my entire VM to an earlier snapshot.

For the last few years of using Grafana, I never ever had such problems with an update. Definitely put a sour taste in my mouth. Hopefully the teams will review to see what went wrong with this update.
