Connecting Grafana Cloud to InfluxDB running inside Home Assistant OS

Hi everyone,

I am working on an IoT project and have run into some issues.

Question:

Is there a way for Grafana Cloud to securely access an InfluxDB instance (add-on) running inside Home Assistant OS?

From the docs, I understand Grafana Cloud can access private data sources either via:

  1. A publicly reachable HTTPS endpoint, or

  2. Private Data Source Connect (Grafana Agent / Alloy)

In my case:

- No ability to install extra software, Docker containers, or Grafana Agent on the HA OS host (only add-ons)

- PDC isn’t possible because HA OS doesn’t allow running the agent

If I’m missing something or misunderstanding any part of this, please feel free to correct me. Any guidance or best‑practice suggestions are welcome.
