Azure Monitor: The cloud not supported after upgrading to v8.0.2

  • What Grafana version and what operating system are you using?
    v8.0.2 on Ubuntu 18.04, Win10Pro, and Grafana Cloud

  • What are you trying to achieve?
    Access Azure Monitor data source

  • How are you trying to achieve it?
    Trough Explore, existing and/or new dashboard panels

  • What happened?
    Error notification of “the cloud not supported”, no data is retrieved, and the dashboard fails to load anything else.

  • What did you expect to happen?
    Data source to continue to function as it did in v7.5.*

  • Can you copy/paste the configuration(s) that you are having problems with?
    I have been able to recreate this issue on a fresh install of Grafana on Ubuntu, Win10Pro, and in Grafana Cloud

  • Did you receive any errors in the Grafana UI or in related logs? If so, please tell us exactly what they were.
    Only a browser notification and logs do not show any issue

  • Did you follow any online instructions? If so, what is the URL?
    I am unable to find any related documentation or issue for this, past the error message in the routes.ts of the source code
