Template Variables prompting for saving changes in Grafana 5.0.0

We have a dashboard that we were successfully using in v4.6.1 that is based off of node_exporter full (https://grafana.com/dashboards/1860) we have a template variable to select a EC2 instance to filter the dashboard. In 4.6.1 this worked perfectly we could change the instance and when leaving the dashboard there was no prompt to save. Now in 5.0.0 the dashboard prompts to save every time leaving the dashboard. Removing the editable flag from the dashboard settings resolves this but it’s not a ideal solution.

Anyone have alternative ideas?
