Null Value Threshold not working on version 8.5.0

I’m using grafana v 8.5.0 and I have a plot that is a time series. Sometimes there can be days between data points, but if try to use the connect null value with the threshold option, it does nothing to the plot

Does null value work for v 8.5.0? Is there something that has to be done in tandem. I’ve read the documentation on the null value section, but I’m seeing nothing that would explain why it is not working.

Any help would be appreciated.
