No visualization options as local user

Hi Grafana-Team,
I’m running Grafana on a Pi 3B+ on my boat. Reading data via InfluxDB from Signalk/NMEA2000.

Everything works when I’m connected to the internet (e.g. in a harbour) an when loggin in with “my” yyy.grafana.net.

But when running grafana @ localhost 192.168.xx.xx:4000 I can log in as admin or user, but it is not possible to do any graph than the standard graph. I even don’t get the configuration gear (at the left) and cannot add a panel. Only a graph. And therefore I’m very limited and don’t get the visualization option.

Any hint what I’m doing wrong?

Thank you very much and best regards

Michael

What version of Grafana are you using?

What you are describing does not match an user role in the current (or really any recent) version of Grafana.

If you see the Configuration menu on the side, then you are an Organization admin. If you don’t, then you aren’t.

If you see the Server Admin menu, then you’re a Grafana server admin. If you don’t, then you’re not.

But no role allows you to only create panels with one visualization type. You either can create panels (because you’re an editor or admin), or you can’t.

Hi Diana,

Thank you for the feedback.
Just reinstalled grafana and now it works.
