No data, when copy panel from another dashboard

I want to create a new dashboard which incorporates alot of panels from other dashboard templates. EG: VMWare, QNAP, Unifi etc.

I create a new dashboard, name it. save it. Then go to the desired dashboard i wish to copy the panel from. Edit, then find the panel, copy it. come back to the new dashboard and click paste. I adjust the bucket name, then refresh but shows no data. Everything from both panels look the same but the copied panel just doesnt work. What am I missing?

When you copy a panel from another dashboard (like VMWare, QNAP, Unifi) and paste it into your new dashboard, it shows no data.
This usually happens because:

  1. The datasource is not matching, OR
  2. The variables used in the original panel are missing in your new dashboard.

I have made sure both the datasource and variables are added to the panel settings. still doesnt show.

How query and dashboard timerange looks like? Pls prove that you have data for that query.

When i look at (for example) the unifi dashboard, everything is there and there is data.

I have found the answer. the versions of the dashboards i am trying to insert are for super old grafana versions. v6 or below. not compatible by the looks with version 10+.
