How does time bucketing work in grafana in graph or time chart

I am trying to understand a timechart/graph/time series chart in grafana.

If I create 3 tabs in browser(1 dashboard per tab)

1- 8th June, now-3d/d to now-3d/d in time picker, 93
2- 9th June, now-2d/d to now-2d/d in time picker, 100
3- 10th June, now-1d/d to now-1d/d in time picker, 4
Total adds to 197

then create another tab in browser with
All 3 days: 8th -10th June, now-3d/d to now-1d/d in time picker, 197, good and correct
but in the time series chart I get 4 values in the time chart which I presume is
2021-06-07-12:00:00 - 67
2021-06-08-12:00:00 - 126
2021-06-09-12:00:00 - 4
2021-06-10-12:00:00 - 0
Also the xaxis(time axis) is not per day format e.g. 7/6,8/6,9/6 (note time series is slightly better than graph for formatting the axis )

what I want in the time chart is
2021-06-08-12:00:00 - 93
2021-06-09-12:00:00 - 100
2021-06-10-12:00:00 - 4

I presuime this is a bucketing issue and/or time issue. Is there any way this cna be fixed? Or can I do anything to improve this? Or am i knitpicking?

Pictures below might illustrate it.
The values 67,126,4,0 should read 93,100,4 as per the correct time bucket

  • What Grafana version and what operating system are you using?
    7.5.7

  • What are you trying to achieve?
accurate graph with corect time buckets to local time

  • How are you trying to achieve it?
    timeseries graphs

  • What happened?
    as above

  • What did you expect to happen?

  • Can you copy/paste the configuration(s) that you are having problems with?

  • Did you receive any errors in the Grafana UI or in related logs? If so, please tell us exactly what they were.

  • Did you follow any online instructions? If so, what is the URL?

you presume…?
did it really show 67,126,4,0 when you hover over it? → point by point?

what happened when you turn the visualization from graph to table?
does it show the correct value…?

apologies, not sure why I wrote presume there, that is what I am seeing as I wrote in red in the pic.
my presumption might be that it is UTC time stamp issue.

did it really show 67,126,4,0 when you hover over it? → point by point?

Yes

what happened when you turn the visualization from graph to table?

not sure will double check, might be having trouble showing it in that format.

does it show the correct value…?

will come back to you.

just looking at the 8th June I get
image

and this is the graph and table I get

the values I get when I hover over inthe graph:
2021-06-07-12:00:00 - 67
2021-06-08-12:00:00 - 26
for the 8th of June I just want to see one value in the graph. why am I getting 2?

when I look at the 3 days I see this

the values I get when I hover over inthe graph:
2021-06-07-12:00:00 - 67
2021-06-08-12:00:00 - 126
2021-06-09-12:00:00 - 4
2021-06-10-12:00:00 - 0

Sorry, hope this is clear, let me know if I missed anything

Im sorry, not sure how I can help…
the data itself, is very… weird…?

1 day selected, returned 2 points: 67 and 26
3 days selected, returned 4 points: 67, 126, 4, 0

is it possible for me to access and play around with the panel?
*just want to help

i wish I could but not sure if possible. how can I investigate it at my end?
if I have only 3days selected, why is it showing 4 days?

Just checked moving the interval to hourly, I only get 3 days worth of data, and this data is as expected if I export the data and sum myself per day
2021-06-08-12:00:00 - 93
2021-06-09-12:00:00 - 100
2021-06-10-12:00:00 - 4
the 8th
