Trying to figure out what was the latest version of grafana we ran that supported an elasticsearch v.6 as data source?
Seems documentation upto and including v.8.4 doesn’t specify specific supported elasticsearch versions, v.8.5 specifies v7.10+ and +v8.x, does this imply that v8.4 would support elasticsearch v.6 data source?
Why you need specific (old, obsolete, buggy) Grafana version, when you can install OpenSearch plugin into latest Grafana version, which has support also for ES 6?
Thanks for that info, will dig into OpenSearch plugin… because I need to revive an old dashboard against an old ES v6 source 
It seemed thought that v.8.4.11 suppoerts data source elasticsearch v.6+
