Google Sheets as data source for Variables

Hi there Grafana developers

I have a question regarding the Google Sheet plugin in Grafana open source. I’m currently working in Grafana v.9.0.9.

The plugin work as intended when connecting a Google Sheet data source for panels. What I’m currently having issues with is using a Google Sheet as data source for a dashboard variables. I’m able to select Google Sheet as the data source, however I’m not able to input the required parameters such as the sheet ID and range, like in the panels.

Is there currently no support for using Google Sheet as data source in variables? If so, can you please open a request add this support?

Currently, Grafana variables don’t support setting Sheet ID and range for Google Sheets.
As a workaround, I used a panel with transformations and a custom variable to filter data dynamically.
