Export Dashboard "extenally" via API

I went through the forum questions, this has been asked several times but haven’t found anyone responded. Example of one such request:

How to export dashboard via API for external use?

Hi! When sharing a dashboard, you can choose to export it for sharing externally: [20200330_161011] Is it possible to get the exact same JSON over the API? At the moment I use https://<my.grafana.instance>/api/dashboards/uid/<dashboard-uid>, but this contains all the instance-specific configurations such as data sources.

  Haven’t found documentation related to exporting dashboard externally.

  No

• Did you receive any errors in the Grafana UI or in related logs? If so, please tell us exactly what they were.
  We can achieve this using Grafana UI but this isn’t ideal for scaling purpose. This is bad experience for operation limiting the scalable solutions

• Did you follow any online instructions? If so, what is the URL?
  No

No, there is no official API.

Is this time available in future roadmap ? if not is there way to request the feature. I have seen this has been requested by several folks for couple years now, was looking if a feature is already existing so we can track the availability.
