Direct linking to a tempo trace

Hi folks

Is there a way to link from an external system to the trace view for a particular tempo trace easily? Honeycomb for example has a /trace/<traceid> endpoint that just does the right thing to pull up a given traceid that you may have found from a different system, like a log or a HTTP header or something.

It’d be really great to be able to craft these links in automation tooling or similar to easily get to the context for a trace.

Go to Explore, select your Tempo datasource and search it there by your trace id. Then just copy URL from the browser and you will have URL to your particular trace id.

Hi @airhorns, tempo has /api/traces/<traceid> endpoint that can be used to get a trace, see more on API Docs
