Customize Grafana UI with a plugin

Hello,
I would like to develop a Grafana 4.4.1 plugin to customize UI and add a new field to dashboard (i.e.: Author).
I’m looking for any documentation, or at least some examples, which could help me to develop this kind of plugin.

There is no plugin type for dashboard fields.

There are only panel, data source & app plugins (apps = collection of panel, data source and dashboards).
