Custom panel does not change time on zoom

  • What Grafana version and what operating system are you using?
    6.7.4

  • What are you trying to achieve?
    I want my custom panel to change the time range whenever I zoom (in/out) just as grafana panels do.

  • How are you trying to achieve it?
    I get the zoom values (new date range), I try to refresh the page with the new values in the query

  • What happened?
    It displays a prompt that asks me if I want to refresh the page. It is not natural

  • What did you expect to happen?
    I expected it to be as fluent as the grafana panels

  • Can you copy/paste the configuration(s) that you are having problems with?

  • Did you receive any errors in the Grafana UI or in related logs? If so, please tell us exactly what they were.

  • Did you follow any online instructions? If so, what is the URL?

Grafana v 6.7.4 is ancient by our standards. We don’t even really support Grafana 7 anymore. Highly recommend you upgrade to grafana 9.

For anyone landing here 8 years later looking for an answer to a similar question. Check out Plugin migration guide | Grafana documentation for some good examples on using the locationService which you can use to update the from and to in the URL. The time in the URL is used to update panels.
