Can't color time series from query

  • What Grafana version and what operating system are you using?
    Grafana v10.4.2 on windows

  • What are you trying to achieve?
    i have a time series of points that has dynamic thresholds and i want to change the colors according to the ths. the ths i get from a query.

  • How are you trying to achieve it?
    i tried many ways but because i can’t use variables on the th option i altered the query so for each point i get the color it suppose to have in color column. i used transformed data and choose Config from query results to set the color.

  • What happened?
    when i choose table instead of time series i get that the cell is colored in the right color (similar to this Grafana) but when i choose time series it shows all in single color but when i hover over a point it shows in the small window the right color

  • What did you expect to happen?
    i expected to see the points colored in the time series according to the values from the query

  • Did you receive any errors in the Grafana UI or in related logs? If so, please tell us exactly what they were.

I don’t really understand what your problem is yet. Can you please show some sample data.

General tip: if you work with different threshold values and you want to express this in a colour, then you have to change the ‘Gradient mode’ to ‘Scheme’.
