Building a GPS tracking end user UI

Hi Everyone,

I have been recommended to Grafana by HiveMQ, as we are building our own Advanced GPS Tracking platform.
I understand that Grafana offers solutions for GPS Tracking, which I am very interested in.

After following the recommendation, I have a few questions, if I may, in which will help me determine what is the next direction I need to take;

  • Can the Dashboard be installed into a Debian based Bare Metal Server, where HiveMQ is hosted?
  • Is the Dashboard & Visualisation Dashboards (Geomap Panel, TrackMap Panel, etc.) Paid or Free/ Open Source?
    If Open Sourced or Free, Can donation(s) be made as our Company Policy involves doing more than saying “Thank you” for any free Product or Service.
  • Is the Dashboard Responsive, to allow the Dashboard to be used on Mobile Devices, and can Android & iOS Mobile Apps be created based on the Dashboard?
  • Where can I locate the downloads for this solution?

    Yes Grafana can be installed on bare metal. You don’t install dashboards, you install grafana and create dashboards in grafana.

  • Is the Dashboard & Visualisation Dashboards (Geomap Panel, TrackMap Panel, etc.) Paid or Free/ Open Source?
    Yes it has amazing geomap etc

  • If Open Sourced or Free, Can donation(s) be made as our Company Policy involves doing more than saying “Thank you” for any free Product or Service.
    There is OSS version and paid enterprise version and also a cloud version.

  • Is the Dashboard Responsive, to allow the Dashboard to be used on Mobile Devices, and can Android & iOS Mobile Apps be created based on the Dashboard?
    Should be responsive on mobile devices but there has some reported issues with rendering you can search in this forum.
    Not sure about creating apps for mobile devices.

  • Where can I locate the downloads for this solution?

Thank you for this. Absolutely grateful.

Can you advise whether there are Terminal command installation instructions please?

Being a remote Server, I will struggle to download onto my computer and send the file using SSH.

Between you, me and the rest of the Grafana community, I am better at Hardware than software.
But I am taking notes and learning, so hopefully, I can increase my skills with this, as IoT in so many ways is the future and if you target the right market, there is some serious money to be made.
