Annotation modal dialog not appearing

This might be a total noob question, but I’m not able to create annotations by cmd+clicking (I’m on mac) on the graph. I am logged in with a admin role, the annotation data source is set to grafana and I’ve tried multiple browsers.

Is there some configuration I’m missing so that I’m not even getting the modal dialog appear to create new annotation?

Answering my own question for the archives. The problem was that I was using ‘Time Series’ as a visualization and that doesn’t seem to support annotations for some reason. Switching to ‘Graph’ solved the issue.
