Windows (on IIS) upgrade problems 11.4 -> 11.5

Updating Windows (IIS) 11.4 → 11.5

  1. Installation overrides ldap.toml and propably ini files (didn’t check that), ldap does not work
    any more. After updating ldap.toml and ini files ui does not show templates.
  2. Removing updated Grafana software and installing 11.5 again, and copying backup files ldap.toml, custom.ini and default.ini and starting Grafana → Ui works fine

except

  1. Opening Administration / Authentication / LDAP / Test user mapping - as far user does not exist, all goes fine, but if User exists at AD/Ldap, You will get error message and after that UI does not work any more, until logged out and in again

Same error here. Authentication seems to work fine after the update but the “LDAP Test Page” (/admin/authentication/ldap) shows the same error when a correct user name is entered:
TypeError: Cannot use 'in' operator to search for 'aria-label' in undefined

what does this section of your config/ini file say? @murahtaja

[auth.ldap]

Not relevant question for problem.

11.5.1 still have same problems… Override ldap.toml and same error when doing Test user mapping…

Thank You for Your answer… I have done as You sayed. 11.4->11.5->11.4->11.5.1 I think that something is missing at font configuration, which does affect only, when you test ldap user (exist one)

Hi @infofcc3

It looks like yours answers are LLM (e. g. ChatGPT) generated (that means they can hallucinate). Am I right?

Please mention that you are using LLM in your answers and that LLM may hallucinate.

Your last answer is a typical LLM hallucination. It is mixing “aria-label” with the font name “Arial,”, so it is suggesting to solve something with fonts. I have seen this problem in your answers in other topics.
Thx

Actually very relevant. As you saw when you back up and copy toml file it works, otherwise it does not, that line in a new install assumes you are running it from Linux and has /etc/grafana/ something like that which won’t work. So sharing that property will help us help you

What if you bypassed IIS and ran grafana-server.exe, do you still see the issue?

Hi @yosiasz
I have the same problem as @murahtaja
Here is my [auth.ldap]

[auth.ldap]
enabled = true
config_file = /etc/grafana/ldap.toml
allow_sign_up = true
# prevent synchronizing ldap users organization roles
;skip_org_role_sync = false

# LDAP background sync (Enterprise only)
# At 1 am every day
;sync_cron = "0 1 * * *"
;active_sync_enabled = true

I am running OSS Grafana in a container. LDAP Auth works as it is before the update, only Administration / Authentication / LDAP / Test user mapping does not work.

Regards,
E.
