We’ve been using Grafana for over 4 years in our company mostly for generating nice dashboards for business metrics and monitoring system logs. We started with OSS and eventually migrated to Cloud because we wanted extra features only available there.
The experience so far has been BAD. Grafana, when working, is great. But how is it possible that the dev team ships a new bug on every other new release. We keep facing the issue that a new release breaks an existing transformation for all our panels. After we create a ticker the team solves it within a week. Then on a few more releases we again find more bugs.
This issue happened very often, so we moved our instance to a monthly release cycle instead of weekly. Now we have issues every other month instead of every other week.
I do not get how this can even happen at a company the size of Grafana, it shows very poor software engineering practices. We finally decided to migrate to Datadog, will probably take a while to make sure they do not face similar issues.
