Region annotations with InfluxDB

Reviving this question.
I read Creating Grafana Annotations with InfluxDb | Max Chadwick example and other documentations. I have a system to store punctual and region events at the database, I want to show them as annotation on Grafana.

Still region annotation unsupported by InfluxDB backend?
If is supported now, what is the data point format to save? (better/recommended format)
If still not, could someone indicate a database the allows me to do?

Loading annotations as regions from MySQL or InfluxDB

Hey all, i’m using grafana to visualize states and throughput of machines. Now i want to show which works were done on the machines using (region) annotations. Region annotation with query

I was investigating query annotations (postgres in my case): And I can implement simple annotation using query below. But seems I cannot create region annotation. using API I can create region annotation Isn’t it a good idea to have such possibility to do it with query not only API: Query can look like : or hard coded example: I want to create feature request on github but would like to know what people think here.
