I’ve read the doc about the annotations queries in InfluxDB (
Now I’m wondering if the Region annotations are supported with an InfluxDB backend?
Are simple annotation the only type supported with the Influx backend ?

No they are not supported
Reviving this question.
I read Creating Grafana Annotations with InfluxDb | Max Chadwick example and other documentations. I have a system to store punctual and region events at the database, I want to show them as annotation on Grafana.
Still region annotation unsupported by InfluxDB backend?
If is supported now, what is the data point format to save? (better/recommended format)
If still not, could someone indicate a database the allows me to do?
I am adding the related topic here in the forum to see if I miss something
i’m using grafana to visualize states and throughput of machines.
Now i want to show which works were done on the machines using (region) annotations.
At the moment the done works are stored in an MySQL-DB having some structure like this:
ID (unsigned int)
I was searching for a possibility to create a region annotation based on such dataset, but i only got “normal” annotations.
Is there any chance to get something like what i…
I was investigating query annotations (postgres in my case):
And I can implement simple annotation using query below. But seems I cannot create region annotation.
using API I can create region annotation
Isn’t it a good idea to have such possibility to do it with query not only API:
Query can look like :
or hard coded example:
I want to create feature request on github but would like to know what people think here.
