Problems with RSS feeds' content

  • What Grafana version and what operating system are you using?
    Grafana v10.4.2 (22809dea50)
    Ubuntu 20.04 LTS

  • What are you trying to achieve?
    I would like to get an RSS feed into a dashboard.

  • How are you trying to achieve it?
    I tried different approaches already.

    • News panel
    • Table panel with data source business text or infinity plugin
    • Business text panel

  • What happened?
    The RSS feed is in XML but has HTML formatting in the values.
    For example: https://infosec.exchange/tags/ixwiki.rss
    I didn’t find a solution to get rid of the html code blocks like <p> within the table panel.
    As an example:

  • What did you expect to happen?
    I was hoping there is a switch like: “render HTML in this table column” - done. :joy:

  • Can you copy/paste the configuration(s) that you are having problems with?
    There is not much to share I guess. Just add the URL into the data source and use the data source/panel mentioned above.

  • Did you receive any errors in the Grafana UI or in related logs? If so, please tell us exactly what they were.
    No errors. Just the ugly HTML code in the text fields.

  • Did you follow any online instructions? If so, what is the URL?
    OMG… you don’t want to see this browser history…
    Maybe it is better to say here: No, I didn’t try any…

Did this work out of the box in your test? :thinking:

I’ve added a data source using this plugin pointing to the feed URL. Then I tried the business text panel using the source, but I never got the result you have.
How did you configure this? Could you maybe share it?
