Problem with create a alert from Cloudwatch - nslookup

Hi,

I’m not new with Grafana but first time I hit a wall and I can not find a solution. I have tried configure Alerts. We have Prometheus running with Alert Manager and Slack integration. We collect data from AWS Cloudwatch. All is ok. But when I try to setup alerts I see that error:

“tsdb.HandleRequest() error RequestError: send request failed caused by: Post https://monitoring.$region.amazonaws.com/: dial tcp: lookup monitoring.$region.amazonaws.com: no such host”

Where should I setup $region? I tried to found it somewhere but no luck. I have setup Variables and no Variables for test.

I will be very thankful for any help and suggestions.

AFAIK Grafana does not support variables in alerts. You’ll have to specify region explicitly in the metrics tab for alert to work.
