Not getting an option to create alert in grafana

• What Grafana version and what operating system are you using?
  8.0.5

• What are you trying to achieve?
  I am trying to create an alert. I configured the Loki and Cortex datasources in Grafana UI, and able to see the metrics and logs in ‘Explore’ section. But I dont see any option to create an alert in the ‘Alerting’ section.

• How are you trying to achieve it?

• What happened?
  Dont see any option to create alert.

• What did you expect to happen?
  Expected to see an option to create alert.

• Can you copy/paste the configuration(s) that you are having problems with?
  I am running Grafana, Cortex and Loki in a Kubernetes cluster. and configured the data sources accordingly.

• Did you receive any errors in the Grafana UI or in related logs? If so, please tell us exactly what they were.
  No errors seen in UI or in console logs.
