Integrating Grafana with Icingaweb

Hi.

I’m following the guide at icingaweb2-module-grafana/02-installation.md at master · Mikesch-mp/icingaweb2-module-grafana · GitHub for getting Grafana integrated with Icinga2.

Under “Grafana Preparations” is the statement:
Depending on which mode (proxy/indirect proxy/direct/iframe) you want to use you have to set some configuration in Grafana.

What’s the difference between these modes and how would I decide which one I want to use? The guide gives no explanation about why one might be better than another in any given setup.

Hi.

Can anyone at least point me to the documentation which explains these
different Grafana modes “proxy” / “indirect proxy” / “direct” / “iframe” so
that I can try to understand which one is the right choice in my situation?

No, I haven’t - I had thought it would be a pretty general question - however
I’ll certainly try that if the answer’s not obvious to anyone here.
