How to highlight time segments

Hi all,

wondering is it possible with the graphs to highlight time segments.

IE if looking at a day highlight a section of time on the time line, so may 8:00 - 10:00 highlight yellow (overlay) then 17:00 - 2100 yellow (overlay) again, or even just that section of the back of the graph?

be nice to segment time slices when looking at a larger time scale, even over a week. show that time segment highlighted on each day in the weekly view.

hoping this is somehting simple if just over looked.

Regards

Scott

There is no such feature currently, you can do something close with annotation regions, http://docs.grafana.org/reference/annotations/

I realize that this is an old post but I ran into the same question.
When showing charts I like to highlight the

  • end of a day
  • end of a week
Especially when you show the last 24 hrs it helps to see until where the last day was or where the new day starts.

A workaround that I have to test is by adding another query for the same chart that only gets the “midnight” values.

But the old default graph used to have ‘Add time region’. Why not have the same feature in Time Series?
