Grafana vs Nagios alert configurations

Hi,

I have a specific question regarding Grafana and Nagios alert configuration. On what specific use case should i use Grafana or Nagios Alerting system? I am little confused since both provide alert notifications feature.

It is basically whitebox vs blackbox monitoring. Alerting in Grafana is quite basic (we will be working more on it soon) but the idea of monitoring/instrumenting with timeseries is a mature concept.
