Grafana Tempo Service Name/Span Name missing in Grafana Tempo Explore UI (Search)

I’m running Tempo monolithic service, backend configured as s3 and metrics generator disabled. When I push the traces, I’m able to see Service Name/Span name in Tempo Grafana Explore UI but after sometime, I’m not able to list the Service Name/Span name Tempo Grafana Explore UI dropdown but I’m able to see old Trace ID when I change the duration.

Where does tempo stores Service Name/Span name ?.

The autocomplete values come from recent data, controlled by complete_block_timeout. If you are testing Tempo and quit sending data, then it matches the behavior you see, eventually there will be no recent data and the autocomplete values will be empty. We are tracking this issue here.
