Grafana in Chrome on Android

Hi all,

my Smartphone crashed. I therefore replaced my Pixel 6 by a new Pixel 8. Meanwhile everything is up and running again. But: Grafana behaved differently on the old one. When adding a Grafana Dashboard link to the home screen it felt more like an app than a website. The Chrome location bar and all Chrome UI was hidden. And it somehow was running it’s own instance of Chrome, opening such a “home screen dashboard” did not change normal Chromes’ history. When I opened normal Chrome afterwards I did not see the dashboard but the location I opened last time when using Chrome instead.

On the new phone all of the functionality is lost. The link on the home screen simply opens the Grafana Dashboard as a normal website, altering Chromes’ history and showing all Chrome UI around the dashboard.

Does that make sense to anybody here? Otherwise I could try to explain in other words next time

Thank you for any help!
Keith

I ran into the same issue. I tried to make a new link to another dashboard. Used to be able to “install as app” and it acted like a web app.
