ElasticSearch vs. OpenSearch plugin

I want to add OpenSearch plugin to my Grafana instance, but I can see that according to plugin doc that plugin is available for Grafana >=9.0.0 and I have Grafana v8.4.5.

I was wondering if I could use the ElasticSearch plugin for OpenSearch (since OpenSearch is a fork of ElasticSearch).

Any reason you cannot upgrade your grafana?

Plugin doc show by default dependency for the latest plugin version. Switch to previous plugin version, which is supported by your Grafana version. It will be 1.1.2 in your case:

Yes, Opensearch can query also Elasticsearch:
