Change a fields appearance based on the value of another

  • What Grafana version and what operating system are you using?
    grafana-enterprise via it’s docker image

  • What are you trying to achieve?
    I am trying to display a queried value, STATUS with a background color determined by another queried value, STATUS_BACK. Both keys are queried from a Redis database.

  • How are you trying to achieve it?
    I made STATUS and STATUS_BACK dashboard variables and displayed STATUS with background color STATUS_BACK in a Text panel with HTML

  • What happened?
    There appears to be no way to query dashboard variables at a set interval (e.g. 5s, 10s).
    Is there a way I can do this so that I can update the panel without having to refresh the page or change the time range?
