What Grafana version and what operating system are you using?
- 12.1.1 Community Edition
-
What are you trying to achieve?
Consider these two horizontal bar charts attached …
-
the data will be dynamically generated from an API call
-
sometimes we get 2 “rows” , sometimes we get 50 rows …
-
from what I have seen from Grafana, it is asking me to put the bar-chart inside a panel,
-
and I have to give this panel a fixed width-and-height (as part of “dashboard design phase”)
-
this will result in weird looking bar charts … the bars can easily become too thin or too wide
-
two solutions could have solved this problem :
-
auto resizing panels (it knows how many rows/bars are to be visualized)
-
fixed width bars (and I just place the bar-chart inside a very big panel as the last row of the dashboard)
-
neither of the two above appear to exist in Grafana ? (I wish to be wrong on this)
-
the bar-chart is auto-resizing relative to the parent panel,
- but the panel is not auto-resizing relative to the parent dashboard !!!
