Alerting for sigle stat

Hi,
I am new to Grafana and really like learning all the great things you can do with the program. I am monitoring the global haelth status of some Dell PowerEdge servers using a single stat that displays a value to text result. For example:

Value Text
3 OK
5 Critical

I would like to be alerted when the status changes form OK to Critical, however I read that alerts cannot be set for single stat objects. Can someone tell me how else to configure this so I would be alerted?

No one has any recommendations on this? I really like Grafana and its capabilities, however single stat alerting seems like it should be a default feature. Please anyone have any recommendations?
