Hey there! I’ve just got started with Grafana cloud and I’m confused because I’m using Alloy to collect logs on two servers with identical alloy configurations.
Right now I’m mostly collecting host metrics. I’m looking at the DPM meter in the Grafana cloud dashboard, though and I’m confused at the number.
Both Alloy instances have a default prometheus scrape interval of 60 seconds, but my DPM fluctuates at around 1.4, which is confusing to me.
If I turn off one of the Alloy instances then my DPM drops to around 0.4 to 0.6, still with some fluctuation. The fluctuation is confusing me, too, because I feel like it should be constant with a constant scrape interval, and at that, it should probably be exactly 1 with one Alloy instance running, not 0.4 or 0.6.
I’m also a little confused by the free-plan billing, because DPM isn’t listed in my account usages:
I’m assuming for the free plan to keep working I have to keep my DPM at or below 1, but as far as I understood, the DPM shouldn’t go up if I start logging on another server, I thought the active series would go up?
