Variables are sent as empty string from grafana message alert

So, I have declared this variable in the dashboard, and we can see the preview of the value too.

This is how am sending the variable as a message through an alert.

[Yesterday 19:57] alerts
[Alerting] Container State alert
Details
$

But all I get is this dollar sign. I tried all other syntax’s too, for eg. ${Host}, {{Host}}, [[Host]], etc. But nothing worked.

Am I missing something here?

I would have to investigate to know for certain but is it possible that the label name is case sensitive? The other possibility is that the label in question is not being returned by the query.
