Upgrade from 8 to 10, on the same server

Bonjour à tous et toutes,

I publish because I would like to be sure that there is no recommendation or “Feedback” that I ignored?

I’ve read many posts on the forum, but there doesn’t seem to be any cases like mine.

Currently in version v8.2.3 (fb85ed6912)
, I plan to upgrade to v10 soon, on the same server.

Should I apply an intermediate version (the 9 in my case) as it seems recommended in the majority of the posts on the forum, in order to secure my update path?

OR can I upgrade directly from v8 to v10, because v10 is awesome?

  • What Grafana version and what operating system are you using?
v8.2.3 (fb85ed6912) - Red Hat Enterprise Linux release 8.6 (Ootpa)
v10.x - Red Hat Enterprise Linux release 8.6 (Ootpa)

  • What are you trying to achieve?
    Upgrading my grafana

  • How are you trying to achieve it?
    Carefully

  • What happened?
Nothing, i’m still thinking, then I read forums for RoE

  • What did you expect to happen?
Just copy/past some commands and have a big smile because everything works after the first start

Salut

If not production, just go ahead and upgrade directly or create another instance on same server and copy both the db and config file

I’ve upgraded without any trouble !
