Stepline with missing "start value"

Hi,
i´m doing my first steps with Grafana, sending data from HomeAssistant to influxDB 1.8
I´m struggling with a binary_sensor displayed in a dashboard.

My sensor reports 1 at 4pm and 0 at 6pm.
When I create a dashboard and the time range is from 00:00-24:00 the left border (raising from 0 to 1 at 4pm) is missing (because the 0 is not in the cuirrent time range. Zooming out before yesterday 4pm and the line is diplayed properly.

Hope you get what i mean.
Can I solve this somehow without pushing duplicate values (0) from home assistant?

Have you considered using a State Timeline instead to display the binary sensor?

thanks, seems the better way to visualize it. Can you provide an exmaple?
I tried with “compressor”

However it displays as on the whole time…

ok, got it, however its not really usable for me, as the Labels for each State Timeline breaks the time matching to the other charts of the dashboard…

ok, maybe this is an option. Set the DIsplay name to delete, Set the Panel title to display name und duplicate the whol diagram for each state sensor.

Hi @zimbo86 and nice work so far.

Regarding stacking graphs (e.g. State Timeline and Time Series), I adjust (lengthen or abbreviate as needed) to get the x-series times to roughly line up. For me, this is close enough (see brown line is not exactly perfect, but close enough for me).
