Slack notifications lack images

Hey,
I’m having a small trouble where I fail to receive and see images in notifications sent to slack channels, eventhough email channels do receive images for alerts.
I’ve read some github issues and added a bot token to the channel as well as the link and a direct channel reference

What else should I look at to find the reason for this issue?
BTW I’m using Grafana 5.3.0 (latest) however this issue didn’t start now, its something that’s haunting me since ElasticSearch alert support was added.

have you configured an external image store? http://docs.grafana.org/installation/configuration/#external-image-storage

I have not, I assumed given the bot token it will upload the image to slack.

@torkel - Am I mistaken to assume that including a bot token to the notification channel should have given Grafana the ability to upload the images to Slack?
