Can we make effort in cleaning up and organizing the directories logically? For example, there are a handful of folders that have nothing - can we remove these?
Also, the VolkovLabs BI plugins used to have an instance with a plethora of samples - is it possible to have some available as well?
I think this will accelerate the upskilling and strengthen proof concepts of new Grafanistas that are wanting to explore what Grafana is capable of.
I agree. The empty folders in the screenshot are good candidates for cleanup, assuming they aren’t being created by provisioning or another automated process.
It would also be great to have a small set of curated example dashboards for the VolkovLabs/Business Suite plugins. The examples could be grouped by plugin/use case so people can quickly see what’s possible and use them as starting points for their own PoCs.
That would make the instance much easier to explore for people who are new to Grafana and help keep the dashboard structure useful as the number of examples grows.

Thank you so much for the feedback! I understand these folders are empty, but they are tied to different alert rules in Play, so we can’t delete them. We have already removed many old dashboards and kept only the ones worth demoing.
The feedback around having more VolkovLabs Business Suite plugins is really helpful! We will be sure to add these examples and grouped them by plugin/use cases in the future. Thank you!
Is it possible to consolidate all of these alert folders into a generic “Alerts” folder?
Grafana v13 now makes it possible to nest 5 layers of folders within.
Also, there’s a duplicate folder “Grafana Cloud Machine Learning Alerts” - is this intended?
For sure I speak on behalf of the community when I say everyone is looking forward to the VolkovLabs BI plugin samples that were lost since they’ve shutdown their public Grafana instance.
Yes, consolidating the alert related folders under a single Alerts folder would make the navigation much cleaner. The existing alert categories could then be organized as subfolders under it.
One thing worth testing first → if you have notification policies routing on the grafana_folder label, moving folders can change that label’s value and there’s a known issue where it doesn’t always update cleanly on already-firing alerts, so it’s worth testing with one folder before doing a bulk move.
For the two Grafana Cloud Machine Learning Alerts folders, the duplicate does not appear intentional. I’d verify their UIDs and contents first; if they are duplicates, one can be removed after moving anything needed from it.
And I aslo agree for restoring the VolkovLabs BI plugin examples. Those examples were very useful references for the community.
We can look into the nested folders in the future. Some of these folders are created automatically by a plugin, so it might be a bit more complex.
For now, I have removed the duplicated Grafana Cloud Machine Learning Alerts folder. That was not intended. Thank you for reporting it!
I have also started creating demo dashboards for the BI plugins, which you can all view in this folder. This will be populated with more examples.
