Security aspect of elasticsearch grafana plugin

Hi ,

I want to configure elasticsearch datasource in grafana , want to understand if someone can mess up data in elasticsearch from grafana if my elasticsearch doesn’t have xpack security enabled ? is it safe to add ES datasource without any authentication ?
