Currently there is no intention for the extension to be maintained by grafana. The original code was PoC and the moment there no plans for it. So if you want this functionality you should fork it and maintain it yourself or just write it from scratch given that it is now using deprecated APIs.
Given that the current code doesn’t make use of the event loop and amqp seems to be pretty asynchronous API from what I know I expect that starting a new is going to be preferable. And maybe amqp1.0 is much different from the pre 1.0, which might also mean the previous code isn’t all that useful as a base.
In all cases, at least at the moment, grafana has no plans to maintain xk6-amqp.
