Can annotation created be sent as notification via webhook?

Hi team,

I am looking for feature as in https://github.com/grafana/grafana/issues/7343
Triggering actions from dashboards.
I took a stab at implementing this by webhook on annotation post call.

Outline:
Add generic ‘webhook’ settings similar to smtp.
In POST /api/annotations.
If webhook is enabled, marshal annotation to webhook body(json), run webhook (sync/async).

On frontend. Implement a Panel with Buttons posting annotations using this.backendSrv.post(’/api/annotations’.

Please let me know if this is acceptable approach.
