New Recording rule does not find the Loki data source

Hi All,

i do not see added Loki data source in options for new recording rule, however i have created Loki data source but it does not show up define query select data source dropdown box as you can see in the second screen shot( Marked in yellow circle saying empty). please advise.

i am using grafan-distributed and grafan running locally on Kubernetes cluster using rancher desktop.

i have checked similar topics previously mentioned here on community and made changes accordingly but it did not help me.

I have one hypothesis for the cause of the problem… could it be because I don’t have write permission to the source?

Verify that you have write permission to the Prometheus or Loki data source. Otherwise, you will not be able to create or update Grafana Mimir managed alerting rules.
