We want to install Loki agents on Azure VMs, is there a documentation or best practices that someone can point us to?

Are you referring to the promtail agent? If so the installation is here: Installation | Grafana Loki documentation. It’s basically download the binary from release with the version you want and that’s it. You can configure systemctl yourself outside of that, of course.
