Monitoring basic metrics from windows

Hi there!

I’m using O.S Windows and I’d like to monitor Windows Server.

I’d like to know a simple way to configurate the Grafana to get basic matrics from Windows Server.

A had some difficult to configurate the Grafana Agent by the web site tutorial.

Thank you,

Which web site tutorial did you use?

I’ve started with this tutorial that shows the instalation of Grafana Agent:

But I’m getting some doubts in the configuration.

I would go with this one with windows exporter

Thanks, Yosiasz!

I followed these steps and i got the dashboad. But it’s showing ‘no data’ menssage.
I noticed that Prometheus isn’t viewing the Windows Exporter, dispite the YML is configurated to see it.

@sistemati hi :wave:

How does your prometheus.yaml looks like? Here is mine.

- job_name: "my_node"

- targets: ['localhost:9182']

Double check if the endpoint is active by visiting http://localhost:{yourPort}/metrics

Double check that the target shows up in prometheus http://localhost:9090/targets

Could you edit one of those panels that use Prometheus and share the query? You might need to change a variable such as “$server” to “localhost:9182”. (in my case the endpoint is 9182)

This is part of prometheus.yaml :

  # The job name is added as a label `job=<job_name>` to any timeseries scraped from this config.
    # metrics_path defaults to '/metrics'
    # scheme defaults to 'http'.

- job_name: "prometheus"
      - targets: ["localhost:9090"]

  - job_name: "windows_exporter"
      - targets: ["localhost:9182"]

The Prometheus and Windows Server pages metrics are working.

When I try to edit the panel I don’t get to see the parameters from Prometheus or Windows Exporter. I think that it’s because the Prometheus aren’t seeing the Windows Exporter.

When I enter in the Prometheus targets it just has itself, Windows Exporter do not appears.

here’s another exporter for windows that you could try

I’m using this one. WMI Exporter.
