Minio feature changes to Opensource edition, replacement?

I noticed the other day that there have been some changes to Minio Opensource edition:

• MinIO Bait and Switch Leaves Enterprise Users Scrambling

Was curious if there were any plans to replace dependency on Minio and if so with what?
