Migrate from Grafana v8.5 to v11.1

Hi.

I just installed the latest v11.1 on a new virtual machine and now I need to transfer the config, dashboards, alerts, etc. I plan to just copy the sqlite database on the new instance. Will this work given the big version gap? Is the database schema the same? I’m afraid that the databases won’t be compatible.
Is there any other way to do the migration? I know in version 8.x there is no provisioning API. I would like as little manual work as possible.

you can try and see what happens.

but also might be best to go one full upgrade at a time using the next latest upgrade and testing each upgrade
